SKUP 2026 has ended
Velkommen til SKUP-konferansen 17. - 19. april 2026
Saturday April 18, 2026 3:30pm - 4:30pm PDT
For the past two years, I have been on the frontlines of applying A.I. to investigative reporting at The New York Times. In this session, I will share what I have learned about how A.I. can be useful to the journalistic process — and in many ways it is not useful, or even actively harmful.

I will share principles and practices that emphasize the human aspect of my work and my evolving relationship with an innovative and displacing technology. Carefully applied, A.I. can help unlock stories that would otherwise be impossible to tell. I will show how I have helped produce dozens of stories at The Times that involve finding needles in haystacks of multimedia and documents such as the Epstein files. And how I am manually crafting tooling to help other journalists in the newsroom use A.I. responsibly.
